Collaboration with ORCA for pragmatic climate action
avency chose to collaborate with ORCA (Organization for Rapid Climate Action) to reduce its environmental impacts. ORCA offers concrete services such as greenhouse gas assessments and environmental protection concepts, rejecting all forms of greenwashing.
"During the analysis carried out together, relevant climate and environmental data such as energy, fuel, and water consumption were identified; our mobility concept also played a role. The results were categorized and analyzed according to the internationally recognized Greenhouse Gas Protocol," explained avency through its former CEO, Roland Albers, more than three years ago.
This collaboration allowed the company to structure and strengthen its climate actions in a tangible way.
Reforestation initiatives and Sustainable Management
Instead of traditional corporate gifts, the structure decided to invest in local reforestation. Since 2022, the company has dedicated significant funds to planting trees near its premises.
"After finding and preparing a suitable area, we planted young trees protected by a fence against deer. In June 2023, we observed the healthy growth of the trees, and we continued the project in the same winter with a new area prepared for new plantings", details Hendrik Walter.

Transition to an electric fleet and green energy
avency has fully electrified its corporate fleet and installed charging points for electric vehicles.
With six hybrid or electric cars, solar panel installations, and a goal of autonomous energy production, the company sets an example in energy transition.
Additionally, its data center has been running exclusively on green electricity since January 2020, thereby reducing its carbon footprint to zero.
